We recently lost Doug Goff (Missy's Dad, Dav's father-in-law, and Mike's Grandpa). Here is the notice from the paper:
GOFF Douglas S. Goff, age 81 years old, on
Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at Meadowcrest Hospital. He was from Lucedale,
Mississippi. He graduated from Baton Rouge High School on scholarship to
Louisiana State University, which he attended for two years before World
War II. After the war he transferred to Mississippi State University. His
fiancee June Rush, was attending Mississippi State College for women
nearby. They were married for 53 years. Douglas graduated from Mississippi
State University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
During World War II he was an electronics technician mate in the United
States Naval Reserve and in the Air Force Reserve for Korea. He worked for
13 years in New York for Sperry Gyroscope Company on air-to-air missiles,
electronic counter measures for the B-52 bomber and the navigation system
for the Polaris ballistic missile submarines. In 1964 he was transferred
to New Orleans to be the Southern Regional Manager Marketing and Service,
Sperry Marine Systems Division until his retirement in January 1986. Mr.
Goff is survived by: his son, James T. Goff of Gretna, LA; his daughter,
Mary A. Goff-Haas of Durham, North Carolina; and three grandchildren.
